Stryker received 510(k) clearance for two devices in its minimally invasive spine portfolio, the Venom RF Cannula and Electrode and 11g iVAS Balloon System for treating facet joint pain.
Physician Payment Sunshine Act is here.
The Physician Payment Sunshine Act started Aug. 1, which will require industry to report interactions with physicians. The interactions will then be published on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services website starting September 2014. There is an exemption for reporting pharmaceutical funding of certified and accredited continuing medical education.

North American Spine Society announced that Michael G. Fehlings, MD, PhD, has received the Henry Farfan Award. The society gave Lawrence G. Lenke, MD, the Leon Wiltse Award, and, Marjorie Eskay-Auerbach, MD, JD, has received the David Selby Award.

Mizuho OSI will now offer the proAXIS Spinal Surgery Table, featuring software-controlled hinge technology. The software allows surgeons control over the desired degree of flexion and extension for direct visualization of vertebral alignment.
