Spinal Elements will have raised nearly $250,000 for children's charities in the first year of Hero Allograft sales.

The company is celebrating its year anniversary of launching the Hero Allograft at the North American Spine Society's convention in New Orleans on Oct. 10. At the New Orleans House of Blues celebration, company executives will present a check for $23,000 to the local Make-A-Wish Foundation chapter.

Last year, Spinal Elements created the Pledge to Be a Hero program that offered surgeons and hospitals a chance to pledge to only use allograft tissue from companies that do not profit from the transfer of tissue.
