According to a report from the American College of Physician Executives and Cejka Executive Search, compensation for physician executives is recovering slowly.
The report included 2,364 physician executives and showed the average compensation grew 7 percent between 2010 and 2012. The median compensation in 2012 was $325,000.
Physicians in the C-suite reported a 4 percent gain over the past two years, while CEOs with MBAs in addition to their medical degrees earned 28 percent higher compensation than those without MBAs.
