Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health announced the establishment of a personalized wellness program for spine surgery patients — the Sanford Center for Spine Success.
The program offers patients a complete approach with a multidisciplinary team that includes surgeons, anesthesiologists, pharmacists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses and case managers. An individual treatment plan is developed for each patient and whenever possible, minimally invasive techniques are used.
"Our program is designed to provide not only a better patient experience during surgery, but better benefits after those procedures, such as lower pain scores and overall improved health and quality of life," said Paul Hanson, president of Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.
