The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons elected Raj Rao, MD, to its board of directors.
Dr. Rao has served AAOS in several leadership positions, including AAOS Diversity Advisory Board chair. He is a professor of orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and has a special interest in spinal disorders.
Dr. Rao contributes to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Advisory Panel on Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Devices and Medicare Evidence Development and Coverage Advisory Commission. He serves on the Lumbar Spine Research Society executive board of directors and North American Spine Society board of directors.
