OrthoGeorgia and Forsyth Street Orthopaedics, both located in Macon, Ga., have merged, according to a report by The Telegraph.

The combined practice will be called OrthoGeorgia and will include 26 orthopedic and spine specialists, 20 physician assistants and nurse practitioners, as well as therapists, nurses and technicians.

Joseph Slappey Jr., MD, the former president of Forsyth Street Orthopaedics, will be the new president of OrthoGeorgia.

"We have been friendly competitors all these years," said Bill Lindsey, CEO of OrthoGeorgia to The Telegraph. "We've been friendly rivals, but it's always been a very collegial, respectful relationship."
