Here are 10 orthopedic practices and hospital departments entering into new partnerships over the past few months.
Commack, N.Y.-based Orthopedic Associates of Long Island entered into a collaborative partnership with St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, N.Y. The practice will maintain six locations in New York but transition to the St. Charles Hospital family and accept all insurances St. Charles offers.
The CORE Institute in Phoenix and Sun City-based Arizona Neurological Institute entered into a partnership where The CORE Institute will formally employ Arizona Neurological Institute physicians and staff, adding to The CORE Institute's 12 facilities. The partnership will be effective Oct. 1.
The University of California, San Francisco and The University of Toledo (Ohio) partnered to create the Center for Disruptive Musculoskeletal Innovations, which will bring together clinical and bioengineering faculty with musculoskeletal product industry leaders.
OrthoGeorgia merged with Forsyth Street Orthopaedics. OrthoGeorgia now includes 26 orthopedic and spine specialists and former Forsyth Street Orthopaedics President Joseph Slappey Jr., MD, is the new president of OrthoGeorgia.
Complete Orthopaedic Care in Lincolnshire, Ill., joined Advocate Medical Group, one of the largest medical groups in Illinois. It's the first specialty orthopedic partnership for AMG.
Great Falls (Mont.) Orthopedic Associates joined Benefits Health System. The practice included 12 physicians and providers as well as an 80-member staff team. The two already have the joint venture outpatient surgery center Orthopedic Center of Montana.
Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Orthopaedic Associates of Michigan expanded its partnership with Wyoming, Mich.-based Metro Health to establish OAM/Metro Sports Medicine that includes six primary care sports medicine physicians and five orthopedic surgeons.
Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists in Milford merged with OrthopedicHealth to create a 27-physician orthopedic practice. The physicians maintained their individual practices.
Beacon Orthopaedics in Cincinnati entered into a sports medicine partnership with Morehead (Ky.) State University Athletics to provide orthopedic consulting, training room visits and medical care.
Wichita-based Kansas Orthopaedic Center purchased Garden City, Kan.-based Sandhill Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine, naming the clinic Kansas Orthopaedic-Sandhill. Six physicians practice at the new location.
