Robert Masson, MD, president of NeuroSpine Institute of Orlando, performed the first lumbar reconstruction and iMAS Reconstruction Procedure last week using the Kestrel View.

Dr. Masson performed the procedure at Health Central Hospital in Orlando. There have been more than 4,500 iMAS procedures performed, but this was the first using the Kestrel View, three-dimensional all-digital microsurgery system.

Dr. Masson developed the technology with Mitaka USA and Max Sturgis. The technology will be on display at the North American Spine Society meeting and the system is anticipated to be ready for commercialization next year.
