Mazor Robotics named SVP America & Global Marketing Christopher Prentice the CEO of Mazor Robotics, Inc., the subsidiary of Mazor Robotics Ltd.
Mr. Prentice spent the past 16 years in healthcare management roles focusing on advancing new technologies in surgical fields. He joined Mazor in 2010 after holding leadership positions with Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Ethicon Endo-Surgery. He also spent time with Intuitive Surgical.
"The U.S. market represents our greatest growth opportunity and I am confident that Chris's leadership, talent and proven capabilities will allow us to realize our objectives," said Ori Hadomi, CEO of Mazor Robotics Ltd.
Earlier this month, Mazor reported selling five Renaissance robotic spine surgery systems during the third quarter of 2014, bringing total number of systems in the United States up to 44. The company also received China Food and Drug Administration approval for the system last quarter, welcomed news after the second quarter financial report revealed only two Renaissance robotic systems were sold in the United States; two others were purchased in Asia, including the first system in Hong Kong.
