The American Medical Women's Association has honored Kimberly J. Templeton, MD, with the Elizabeth Blackwell Award, according to an AAOS Now report.
Dr. Templeton has been President of the US Bone and Joint Decade and American College of Women's Health Physicians. She is the director of the musculoskeletal oncology service at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She is the chief of orthopedic surgery at Kansas City (Mo.) VA Medical Center and has also served as president of the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society.
Dr. Templeton earned her medical degree at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Mo., and completed her residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. Her additional training includes a musculoskeletal oncology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.
