James Andrews, MD, board-certified orthopedic surgeon, has performed elbow surgery on Boston Red Sox pitcher Joel Hanrahan, according to an Eye on Baseball report.
Dr. Andrews performed the procedure on the player's right elbow, which included the removal of bone spurs.
Mr. Hanrahan will require an estimated 12 months of recovery time.
