Johnson & Johnson has decided to stop production of its DePuy all-metal hip replacements after Aug. 31, though executives say the decision is not related to safety or effectiveness, according to The Legal Examiner.
Metal-on-metal hip implants are reportedly becoming less in-demand than devices made from other materials, and the company's Articular Surface Replacement is now involved in more than 10,000 lawsuits filed against J&J, according to the report.
