Mark Galland, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with Orthopaedic Specialists of North Carolina, has been named the medical director of the Barton College athletic program in Raleigh, N.C.
Dr. Galland will be responsible for all athletes in the program and oversee the evaluation, management and surgical treatment of the athletes. There were 237 participating student athletes entering the 2012 school year.
Dr. Galland serves as team physician and orthopedic consultant for the Carolina Mudcats, an advanced A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.
