Exactech is a developer and producer of bone and joint restoration products for hip, knee, shoulder, spine and biologic materials.
Exactech markets its products in the United States, in addition to more than 30 markets in Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Pacific.
1. Exactech was founded by orthopedic surgeon Bill Petty, MD, his wife Betty and biomedical engineer Gary Miller, PhD. They incorporated the company in 1985, and today Exactech has served patients in more than 35 countries.
2. The company's board of directors includes eight members, including W. Andrew Krusen who was elected recently. Mr. Krusen has been chairman and CEO of Dominion Financial Group, a merchant banking organization since 1987. He has also been the managing member of Gulf Standard Energy, an oil and gas concern, since 2004.

3. In March, Exactech announced that its President David Petty has been promoted to CEO. Mr. Petty previously served as executive vice president of sales and marketing at Exactech. Bill Petty, MD, co-founder and CEO of the company since 1985, was named its executive chairman.
4. Exactech has developed a wide array of products, and in April, its Octane Elevate Spinal Implant System received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
In March, the company commemorated the 20th anniversary of the Exactech Knee system with the launch of ExactechGPS Guided Personalized Surgery, an advanced surgical solution that provides orthopedic surgeons with real-time data and imaging to ensure accuracy and precision during total knee arthroplasty procedures.
5. The company is involved in several community outreach efforts; including partnering with Children's Home Society of Florida and organizing an annual school supply drive benefiting Tools for Schools of Alachua County. Exactech's marathon team participates annually in the Joints in Motion program to raise money on behalf of the Arthritis Foundation, which helps to fund arthritis research and raise awareness.
